The government of Baden-Württemberg is committed to reducing the number of animals used in research and education as much as possible and to keeping the stress on the animals to a minimum. The promotion of alternative and complementary methods to animal testing is an important contribution to this.

Among other things, the government funds the development of alternative and complementary methods to animal testing - in 2024, the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection has 200,000 euros available for this purpose.
